Basic Terms
The client will be on time—save for emergencies or illness—for scheduled consultations. In the event of tardiness, the client understands if they are more than 10 minutes late, their meeting will be cancelled, and it is the client’s responsibility to reschedule with Curly Quotes Editing.

When an edited draft is delivered to the client, they understand it is their responsibility to make changes to their project and ask questions of Curly Quotes Editing in a timely manner. Missed deadlines due to mismanaged client time are not the fault of Curly Quotes Editing.

In the event that Curly Quotes Editing cannot attend a scheduled meeting time, the client understands they will be contacted as soon as possible before the scheduled time and provided a link to reschedule.

AI Policy
Curly Quotes Editing is: Human-focused. Human-made.

Anna Keesey, and therefore Curly Quotes Editing LLC, does not use, tolerate, or approve of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI, GenAI) or Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc. in any way and believes it has no place in the creative process. Be aware that if your book was written or edited using LLMs and you do not disclose this information to Curly Quotes Editing, we reserve the right to terminate your contract effective immediately with no refunds.

Curly Quotes Editing will never, at any point, upload your work into an LLM for any reason.

Conduct Policy
The client understands that Curly Quotes Editing will never be excessively harsh editing their projects or during coaching calls and will always treat the client and their work with respect. Therefore, the client will afford Curly Quotes Editing the same courtesy. The client understands that coaching and editing can be an emotional process, and Curly Quotes Editing is not a grading service that is judging the client’s personal self or work based on craft, grammar, style, or length.

Verbal and Emotional Abuse
The client understands that verbal or emotional abuse will not be tolerated and is grounds for Curly Quotes Editing to terminate collaboration and refuse service to the client in the future. The client understands and agrees that “ghosting” or uncooperative communication are also grounds for contract termination as a solid, open dialogue is an integral part of the author/coach or author/editor relationship.

Disclaimer of Service
The client understands that Curly Quotes Editing cannot guarantee their placement, acceptance, or integration with the non-affiliated entity the client brought their project to Curly Quotes Editing for. Curly Quotes Editing can only attest to the quality of their coaching, editing, and revision to make the client’s project its best version and the higher likelihood of success due to Curly Quotes Editing’s professional skills.
