Please note I don’t do sample edits for manuscript evaluations, as that’s not really possible, but I do scan your first two chapters to get a feel for the work and what it might need. Developmental editing sample edits (1,000 words) are less involved as I don’t have the book’s full context to work with, but I still do them, because I believe it’s important for you to see an example of how I work with your book in terms of tone, questions, suggestions, and comments.

After choosing an editing type, you’ll fill out a form using the button available on any services page. The form also provides a place for you to upload the first 2 chapters of your manuscript that will act as your free sample edit (1,000 words) and basis for your quote.

After submitting the form, you’ll see a message that I’ll contact you soon to schedule your discovery call! Please expect that email within 24 hours or on the next business day.

I’ll send your sample edit (developmental and line editing only) and quote the day before our call so you have time to look it over. This includes if I believe you may benefit from another type of editing or a combination of editing, which I will quote for at the same time along with my reasoning and advice for moving forward.

Your discovery call will last about 20 minutes and contain a few different things.
